My CDI, permanent contract, with the British American Institute. So now I'll be a very busy little bee, preparing and taking lessons Monday to Friday. Whilst the pay isn't as much as I could get if I was doing private tuition, the fact that it's full time helps. Private classes can dry up and become hard to find during the holidays, so at least this gives me, us, some security. Also, as some of you may know, just finding a job in France is hard enough, with the level of unemployment where it is. Another reason why my contract gets it's own little place on the Blog.
Elo has also signed a contract with a land development company. She isn't building houses but she's working as a commercial assistant, with a few extra responsibilities. Her business buys sections of land from different places, mainly local councils, government, then subdivides the land and sells off sections for houses or appartments. Elod has to look after the company's internet site, make presentations to the government offices about the business or possible developments, try to sell space on their internet site to other real estate agencies, and assist in the other areas of the business. So she's going to be quite busy too.
But, now that we both have real jobs, we are starting to look for our own place to live. Elo has a 2 hour lunch break, so we want to be close to her work so that she can go home for lunch. She works in a nice area so it's no problem.
Alors, keep an eye out, hopefully soon, for some good news.
Until then.
