Grandma's arrival

Mum/Grandma was looking pretty good fresh of the train, after thirty odd hours of travelling.
The rescue helicopter has been a hit since arriving from Australia. It's been helping put out the 'Duplo fires' in the lounge room

Hitting it off.

And the story is written. Future captain of the baggy green works on his cover drive.
Now he's tweaking the googly.
Flying fox stunt man, didn't even fall off once.

We visited the 'jardin des plantes' in Nantes. enjoyed the woven bamboo cabin.
There were a few goats in a pen that the kids could pat.

On the three storey merry go round in Nantes.

Three stories high, it is quite impressive.

In action at the adventure park we visited.
Paddle boating just before the 'trip' incident that slowed Grandma down for a while. Hope everythings stopped hurting?

Having a great time

Plenty of fun on all the different rides.

Hat night

Crazy hat night
Amazingly, I felt like the least dorky in this one.

Not for long.

July

Choo, choo, the magic rug is coming through.

Off for a walk in the pram.
She's admiring her brother going down the slide

Apparently that tickles.

This was a town, Clisson, about an hour from Nantes that we visited without the kids.

We went for a great walk along the river. Very calm and picturesque.

An art exhibition we visited that had a couple of installations following the theme of insects.Above, a perspex bee hive, allow the viewer to see into the heart of the hive. The tube heading to the right of the picture was the tube allowing the bees to get outside.
This was a very delicate piece, where the artist had decorated three rooms using dead insects. They had been collected and pinned on the wall in various patterns. It may sound a little creepy, but the effect was really impressive.
Some insects that had been damaged
and couldn't

Silk worms eating Mulberry leaves. It was interesting to see them close up.

The castle at Clisson was enormous.
Below, the bed and breakfast we stayed at.

Then, Sunday morning, Elo had organised a surprise for me. We visited an attraction park called 'Futuroscope'. It's rides are focused on using new technology and new ways of giving the viewer/passenger different sensations. Very enjoyable day, great weather, not a lot of people. So in all, I think we all had a great day.

Naturally I had the biggest muscles.

Incredible buildings too.

What a cute little girl.
