So, the road to the West is very long, straight and boring. Some sections we took were a single lane with dirt on the side you had to move on to if another vehicle was coming the other direction. Most of the time that other vehicle was a
Road Train about 50m long with 40 odd wheels. So poor old Marguerite got hit with a few stones on these sections of road. She also started to get pretty hot so we were slowing down to about 80kph and left the heater on. You can imagine how wonderful that was in the middle of the outback. Hot feet. We did however get very good fuel efficiency at 80kph. But she's now getting her radiator fixed, because we can both stand travelling at 80, but with the heater on it was unbearable.
Fire in the Desert.
An inquisitive Emu came to visit us in the car at a rest area.
We have been playing a few games along the highway to try and pass the time, and so we don't listen to all our CD's in the first half of the trip. A "handshadow challenge" was one way to pass the time. A challenge was issued by the driver and mostly met by the passenger who took a photo out of the window for proof.
