The Giant Elephant

We visited a project on the island of Nantes a few months ago now, so finally, here are some photos. The project has been part of making the island a more interesting place to live, now that the dock yards that used to dominate the area have closed down. The main attraction is a massive Elephant. It's about 12 metres high, 8 metres high and weighs 40 tons. It moves very slowly, and while it moves as if it's walking, it actually rolls along on a set of huge wheels. The trunk sways around and can blow water and make a trumpet sound very life like.
We went for a slow ride on the elephant, it can carry passengers on it's back and in it's stomach.
It's really quite a site. The greatest part is, it's free to see, it walks around part of the city, next to a park and near the road. It's like Jumanji all over again.
